School
of Art & Design has
1243 students
majoring in five
undergraduate
programs:
environmental design
(including interior
design and landscape
design 2
professional
directions), product
design, clothing and
fashion design,
visual communication
design, industrial
design. Among them,
environmental design
is the
characteristic
specialty of Jiangsu
Province, and design
(class) major is the
key specialty of
Jiangsu Province.
The School’s
creative and design
experiment center is
an experimental
teaching
demonstration center
in Jiangsu Province.
Since the beginning of
construction
decoration in 1990,
after nearly 30
years of
development, the
School has built a
teaching and
research team with
more rational
structure as well as
more distinctive
features. SAD has 50
full-time teachers,
including 16
professors and
associate
professors, 2
master’s tutors, 6
doctors, master's
degree or above
accounting for 85%,
and teachers with
overseas experience
accounting for 26%.

provincial “Blue

Project of Training
High Level Talents”
and other talent
projects; 1 is the
campus famous
teacher, and 1 team
is the provincial
“Blue Project

School also

Jiangsu Province
outstanding teaching
achievement in 2013.

domestic and foreign
design awards.
In recent years, the
School’s scientific
research and
artistic creation
have made great
achievements,

Social Science Fund
(Art), 4 provincial
projects; more than
50 longitudinal
scientific research
projects; 9
monographs (Albums)
, 17 professional
books, more than 400
articles (works). In
the domestic arts
and professional
design field, the
School teachers show
the first-class
professional level
in the history of
the national art
exhibition, winning
1 gold medal, 1
bronze medal, been
selected in 6 times.
The School was
awarded the Jiangsu
Province watercolor
gouache creation
research center by
Jiangsu Province
Artists Association;
in the three world
industrial design
award teachers won
the German red dot
design award 3 times
in 2007 and 2014, 1
the IF design award
in 2010, the
teachers gained over
200 awards at home
and abroad.
Over the years, the
School teachers and
students use their
expertise to serve
the local economic
and cultural
construction. They
have devoted
themselves to the
field of art design
and art creation,
designed a lot of
excellent works,
leading the
direction of
artistic creation,
and achieved good
results and received
the widespread
praise.
